Steve Frothingham

Steve is in his second stint at BRAIN. He was here at the beginning in 1992 while still working for a bike shop in Santa Fe, N.M. He wrote several articles for BRAIN's first issue and later joined the staff, eventually becoming managing editor and then executive editor.

After leaving BRAIN in 1997 he worked for several news organizations including The Associated Press and VeloNews before rejoining BRAIN as web editor in 2011.

He is based in Longmont, Colorado, and is an enthusiastic (and slow) road, mountain bike and cyclocross rider.

Marzocchi set to return to OE market

LONG BEACH, CA (BRAIN) — Italian fork brand Marzocchi has moved its U.S. operations from Valencia to Long Beach, California, and following a difficult year in 2012, says it is ready to return strongly to the OE market for the 2014 model year. The company plans to introduce new models to the industry at the Taipei Cycle Show in March and other models to the public at the Sea Otter Classic in California in April.

VAN NUYS, CA (BRAIN) — Easton-Bell Sports announced some major changes to its management team Wednesday as Terry Lee — whose history with Bell Sports dates to 1984 — steps back into the CEO role. Lee replaces Paul Harrington, who resigned.

Retailer: Armstrong discussion 'over'

NEVADA CITY, CA (BRAIN) — After Armstrong was charged with doping and had his race results nullified last year, Nevada City race organizer Duane Strawser — who also owns the Tour of Nevada City Bicycle Shop and is mayor of the old Gold Rush town — was an obvious interview subject for the hordes of journalists sniffing around the story.
