Issue Highlights:

LAGUNA HILLS, Calif. (BRAIN) — How times flies. The newest edition of Bicycle Retailer & Industry News celebrates the 25th anniversary of our founding.

The issue contains a gallery of covers from over the years, a timeline of major happenings in U.S. bike retailing over the last quarter century, and remembrances from current and former BRAIN staffers, contributors and friends from across the industry.

The new issue, with an October 1 cover date, is appearing in subscribers’ mailboxes this week. It will be our featured issue at the upcoming Interbike show, as well.

Besides the BRAIN anniversary articles, the new issue contains a look at HIA Velo’s new carbon bike factory in Arkansas, the NBDA’s purchase of the Barnett Bicycle Institute, ASI’s purchase of Performance Bicycle, and more news.

This also includes Val Vanderpool’s look at how communities from Kansas to California are promoting their areas as cycling destinations, and as attractive places for bike industry companies to relocate.

Toby Hill pays a visit to CamelBak’s factory in Tijuana, Mexico, which pumps out up to 3 million CamelBak reservoirs each year.

This issue also contains our yearly side-by-side comparison chart for retailer POS systems.

These highlights are in addition to regular BRAIN departments like State of Retail, Global Briefs, Mad Dog Unleashed, Tech Briefs and Through the Grapevine that are only published in the magazine.
